New members should have already read this. It's the agreement that you tick to say you have read, when you sign on.
It has now been shortened, as much as I can, but people still don't read it. So for reference, here it is:

Please read this, it's very important and quite short

When registering please remember that all bulletin boards have problems with people being disruptive, which is why we are very wary of people who seek anonymity.
We encourage people to use their true identity.
AOL is also a big problem, as they allow aliases and access via proxy servers. AOL email addresses will be treated as very suspect.
Your displayed name must include your real first name, (if only in brackets) and it must in some way match your email address.

If you use an obviously false name or register from an anonymous email service, your access to the boards features will be restricted, until we get to know you.
If it's both, it will be rejected.

I could list a load of rules, but basically the boards motto is "It's nice to be nice".

We do not warrant the accuracy, completeness, or usefulness of any information presented.

Before you register read this.

In March we broke the record with over 1000 attempts to register by Spammers and other low life.

It's very simple for the Nick and I to just reject them, but all we do is look at the user name and email address to decide. (If we have the time we also look a the country you accessed from.)

It is important when registering to make yourself stand out as genuine.

Remember we have no way of knowing who MadAsABadger  scott23416@gmail.com might be. You might have been to Cropredy for 42 years, seen Fairport 1001 times and play two dozen instruments, but to us you look like a Spammer.

What is really helpful is if you use your real first name in your user name and no numbers. If your user name in some way matches your email address, that's good as well.
