It would be amazing for Steeleye Span to come along with their original line-up and maybe even Martin Carthy! Fairport supported by Steeleye Span would be my idea of heaven!!

Why start on 2007 when we are still suggesting artists for 2006? It's highly unlikely that anyone picked for 2006 would also appear in 2007 - so that ought to cut down the number of suggestions. Slightly pointless thread, unless I'm missing the point?

Slightly pointless thread, unless I'm missing the point? Get you... I'm NOT going to Cropredy 2006 but I will be there in 2007 for the 40th Anniversary, so it's of intertest to me. Plenty of other places where peoople have already and will over the next ten months predict 2006 line ups... So a tiniest dash of irony... but - as you so pompously say - pointless! NOT TO ME IT AIN'T SUGAR!

Odd that - I'm sure I saw you voting for Eighteenth Day of May in the 2006 suggestion thread.....and that's your band ain't it? Now if you aren't going....

Probably the last major anniversary that this line-up (and the past members) will want to play a 3-hour plus gig.... Let's have Ashley back doing the 'History of' again - it's a full 10 years since he last did it, and there'll be many that haven't heard it. It can be updated too.

Just to clear up something Chris seemed to imply earlier....The Eighteenth Day of May is "my" band and has nothing to do with Mister O'Diamonds (but if you're reading this Jack, we've a gig on the 22nd and you're welcome to roadie for us.... ). For the record, I kinda think Cropredy 2007 IS worth getting excited about - but the idea that it may be the last chance for the full supporting cast of ex- and present Fairports to reunite for a full set is a bit of a sobering thought. So.....I'd hope for a triumphant return of the Swarb in 2006 and the whole gang (Ian Matthews, Jude, RT, Ashley Hutchings, DM, Jerry Donahue etc etc) in 2007.... .....But PLEASE, no return for The Hamsters . If we're gonna have a pub rock band howzabout the mighty GPs?
