when she played my folk club many's the weary year ago she told me to pronounce it Moira Knee Cass A Hee.
So I got her her name right for her introduction. And then called her guitarist Chris Newcombe.....Can't win ever.

When they're confirmed?....
Is that the same but different as 'subject to contract' which is what Thursday's line up is announced as? My money's on Show of Hands simply for the reason that Phil Beer's thereon Thursday...er... and another band which has Dave Mattacks on drums...and erm.. Richard Digance. Duhr.

Is that the same but different as 'subject to contract' which is what Thursday's line up is announced as? Not quite. 'confirmed' means that bands haven't even verbally agreed; STC means they've verbally agreed, just haven't signed up.... My money's on Show of Hands simply for the reason that Phil Beer's thereon Thursday...er... and another band which has Dave Mattacks on drums...and erm.. Richard Digance. Duhr. Doubt the first; too soon since they were there. Which other band do you percieve DM being part of - or are you referring to appearing as a 'special guest'?; yes, I reckon RD might be a good bet.

I reckon he means Feast of Fiddles.
How can someone be "confirmed" when they haven't even verbally agreed? Surely STC first, then confimed AFTER they've signed...?
While we're talking about comperes/comedians, how about giving Jasper Carrott (the Solihull/Acocks Green connection) or Frank Skinner (with or without fiddle) a 30-min slot?

I reckon he means Feast of Fiddles. Not sure of that - Feast of Fiddles are already listed for Thursday..... How can someone be "confirmed" when they haven't even verbally agreed? They can't - hence there's no announcement yet. Surely STC first, then confimed AFTER they've signed...? I see what you mean, maybe bad usage....what I meant was verbally agreed, what you mean is the 'legal-eagle' definition. Verbal agreement 9 times out of 10 will sign up...hence the codacil 'STC'....Of course they are contractually confirmed once their signature is on the line. But if artists maybe have been asked but not yet even said a verbal 'yes', then there's little point in advertising them - which I reckon is the current situation.

Re Dm. I thought he might be on drums over the weekend for a 'special' - and I don't mean FC. I was thinking aloud.
I'd still put some money on Show of Hands.
I think one of the Wainrights will appear. I feel it it my water.
I'll dry my hands now.

Martha or Rufus do you reckon? Either would be great, but I have to confess Martha would get my vote Mic

Either would be great, but I have to confess Martha would get my vote Mic I'd love to see Martha again and I think she'd do a great friday early evening set but, as ever, your and my 'vote' mean bugger all in the grand scheme of things. Any sightings of FC'ers at Wainwright gigs gratefully received... Skirky
