And there was us, all ready with "The Ballad of the Frozen Explorer,Good Lordy Just Look at His Beard!"* all rehearsed in his honour too. Looks like you're stuck with presenting then, eh? *it's a work in progress - just got to work on some of the lyrics....

Is this presentation going to happen at the OFF? is this yet another reason to get excited about the OFF? I don't know how much more excitement I can take! Vikki xx

Yes, it is.
Not sure when or where yet. Need to talk to Bellowhead. Expect something of a repeat of the Boden and Spiers presentation, if Nick and I can remember what we said (I lost my bit of paper that I scribbled on!)

I doubt it will be presented on-stage though, sadly. The hall will be absolutely stuffed for the concert, we will be running around like blue backsidedd flies getting the bands off and on stage etc and a presentation then would be logisitcally impossible. The most likely times will be during a gap in the programme between the afternoon concerts (Waterson:Carthy headlining) and evening concerts (when Bellowhead headline) or alternatively in the Cellar Bar after the gig. My preference would be the Cellar Bar because its a rocking venue and a good chance to let the hair down (actually that should be because I can't wear the fez in there, the ceiling is too low!) Cheers Nick

Actually, I should think on stage will be the only place, indeed ideal. It's the only place all the Bellowhead supporters will be able to see it happen!. The Cellar (though it is a great venue) is likely to be far too crowded, if last year is anything to go by, and last year we had half the attendance we have this. There may also be band members (with, for example, new infants) who might not want to be hanging about after the gig... ...however I think this is all just a big scheme for you to get away with not wearing your fez , poor thing...it's tassel will go all tangly in disappointment .

They are the first of, I think, 4 Bellowheadeans who will produce infants over the course of this summer. The band will be supplementing their management team with a nanny and mobile creche facilities

Do we know what sort of baby (apart from sweet and cuddly) Pete the percussionist's young woman had? And did he make it to the hospital in time!

Pete's mum mentioned on Monday that the mum-to-be was sent home from hospital and is still waiting... "Terrible timing for a drummer's child!" was her quote More news as soon as it comes...

Apparently they went through practically every complication under the sun, but all are well. Don't know any more yet but will let you know when I hear.

More awards ready to award...
Very nice reviews and photos of Barry presenting to Chris and Julie - that looked like an excellent occasion.
Still looking for photos of Martin Simpson's award Jackdaw! and also of Mawkin being presented. Did you guys take any pics?
AdrianW is now lined up to present to Richard Thompson at Wickham and David Stevenson will be presenting to Mike Harding at Cambridge. That leaves Eliza (still!!) and John Tams to receive their awards.
Anyone else interested in helping out with presenting these?
Cheers
Nick

Our plans fell through on the last Ratcatchers tour-ette unfortunately so we'll need to be a bit more prepared this time. Eyes peeled for a suitable opportunity. Cheers Nick

I will be presenting Mike Harding with his Good Egg Folkie Award at Cambridge next weekend. Specific time still to be agreed, but any TW'ers in attendance will be welcome to help make the area look busy.
