Oh Jude, I wish I had seen your message before the talk - he mentioned you and I wish I could say he waxed lovingly, but instead talked about how he tried to diplomatically replace you
But he was even less enthusiastic about Vashti Bunyan - for a folk lover he seemed rather commercially driven.
That said, he had the rapt attention of an audience of over 200, and did have a lot of interesting and positive things to say. After about an hour of chat with Mark Cooper (?) The BBC guy responsible for Folk Britannia, we had 3 lovely songs from Geoff Muldaur who's name meant nothing to me (but does now) but had a voice like honey flavoured smoke. Fab.
And I was allowed to ask the 4th and last question (straight after Linda Thompson!) Which he answered very thoughtfully.
The event was free so I'll probably buy his book when it comes out in May, even though our Jude should have got a chapter to herself.
