Has Cropredy ever had a jazz act?

Pentangle are probably as close as you'd get....although if Ric were to get his way, you might get Etheridge or Zawinul....

Could be interesting, certainly sing-a-longable with a few pints of 6x. Perhaps Hunter, Wilco & Al Stewart next year please.

Haaaaaaaaaa I've got 10cc on vinyl and yet again Crop gives me the opportunity to fill in gig gaps from the past.

I shall rush out tomorrow and buy The Best of .... on CD to refurbish and reconnect the little grey cells.

10CC were a facntasitcly accomplished set of musicians.

But I don't know who is in 10CC nowadays, Godley and Creme having not spoken for years'n'years...

Taken a look at the website. Neither Godley OR Creme.

I used to love 10CC, and still do love many of the songs, but all the best ones were written largely by Godley and Creme. Dreadlock Holiday was written after they left and is pretty good, but it was essentially a different band - you can only go so far with cod-reggae (think Typically Tropical and it gets a little uncomfortable).

Like Fairport the current band are nothing like the original, but unlike Fairport nothing from the last 27 years will be known by the vast majority of the Cropredy crowd. And will they be allowed to play the entire back-catalogue by G&C?

Confused and a bit disappointed.

Cropredy 2018

« Reply #138 on: March 28, 2006, 09:15:42 AM »

The tag line of Graham Gouldman and friends is a bit of a worry but they toured a greatest hits show in the last couple of years. The band looks as if it willinclude Mick (Rick?) Fenn, who has been a long time guitarist wih the band, and some session players, possibly including friend of FC and Maart drummer Paul Burgess.

I am pretty pleased with the news, I really loved 10cc as a kid and hopefully it will be a good night.

Cheers,

Jackdaw
