Agree with Barry re-Iain Matthews.... he was really good with FC, setting his vocals against first Jude (who looks soooooooooooo cool on this clip!) then Sandy. Check out his back catalogue.... some fine stuff... One other point... what a fine drummer Martin was!

Not Peggy (Ashley) and not at all sure if it is a poodle.

Does anyone remember Fairport's ads in the Club Calendar section of Melody Maker in May 1967? Obviously not a busy time for the lads:
Friday: Fairport Convention stays at home tonight.
Saturday: Fairport Convention stays home again patiently awaiting bookings.
Sunday: Fairport Convention gives up hope, goes to Highgate Odeon.

Sorry I haven't done any for ages, me old USB hub got zapped. Here are some more bits and bobs - biased towards Swarb as we all hope to see Lazarus at Croppers. I like Swarb's suit - also the superb backwards "N" in the Lloyd's Weekly News cover. The "Heat" or "Take a Break" of its day methinks. Cheers - Ed [attachment deleted by admin]

Actually I've just remembered...the programme about John Lee was I believe originally on around 1973, & repeated 1975, which is when this piece was in the RT. A bunch of us went up to a wedding in Newcastle that w/e, had a few swift halves afterwards, staggered back to our hotel and then watched the programme on their telly (no vids then). A party of Geordies arrived...."what - not watching the football lads?" "Errr no, we're a bit strange you see". (No change there then). We went doon to the Tyne the next day and lo and behold, the Killingworth Morris Men did a superb set on the Quayside. Howay the bonny lads!

Thought you might like my (Fuji @ something like 1600 ASA) shot of Professor Bruce Lacey and partner up the field at Croppers 1982 - had they just seen The Wicker Man? [attachment deleted by admin]

Yep, that's a 1982 Swarb - one of the few Fairport members who actually visibly changed appearance from year to year. Cracking photo of Bruce and friend. Here's the story from the Banbury Guardian: (I bet Mr Gary English, 31, has a cracking time in the bedroom..... )

Thanks for letting me have the opportunity to see and read the clipping of Bruce Lacy at Cropredy 1982. AT2 was my first Cropredy and I remember not sitting too far away from Bruce's performance. Bring back Bruce for the big 40 bash next year.
