I know it's Slightly off topic but it does concern Sandy, I have just found this on BBC Sold on Song where you can vote for your favourite version of Who Knows Where The Time Goes and hear snippets of each.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio2/soldonsong/songlibrary/covers/whoknows.shtml

I didn't realise that it had been covered as much.

What they don't have is Ron Kavana's verion from the early '90's. Hopefully recorded somewhere, and always a highlight of his set. It's time for a "Live" retrospective Alias album.

I think Jude has the right to be offended about part of the commentary.  Sad

What? Why? Would anyone like to tell me? Either here or by IM?

At a guess Jude, it's the same old myth/lazy shorthand along the lines of "Sandy Denny replaced Judy Dyble because she wasn't a very good singer". The truth, as I would hope most of us on here know, is that yourself & Sandy were very different singers and Fairport were moving towards a style more suited to Sandy. In the same way that Ashley has, over the years, replaced someone like Steve Ashley with Martin Carthy, John Tams with Cathy Lesurf, Cathy with Polly Bolton, etc. All of them excellent singers, but each particularly suited to the sort of the music the band were making at the time.

Sandy's version now has 57% of the vote.. and that's far less than she should have IMO!

That's five times as much as any of the others though, Ames.
