Lovely...thanks Ollie. Didn't they do the whole of Babbacombe Lee live at Cropredy 82 (or one of the very early years)?

Yes, they did. You once sent me a recording of it! That user seems to have lots of other interesting videos, including Sailor's Alphabet from the same year.

Thanks for posting Watching this has made me realise just how quick the past 28 (almost!) years have flashed by ! I was still a naive student back in 1982, and yet it seems like yesterday

I've really enjoyed watching all these vids - it's fun watching the line-up and hair-styles change, not to mention some of the more questionable fashion choices of certain folk! In return I offer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4jStS036nsIChris Leslie and Swarb fiddling away in 1984. I don't think it's been posted before...

Something called London Rock. I don't know anything about it but have just spent an enjoyable hour watching the whole thing. Here are two clips that relate to Fairpor. Absolute gems!!! FC rehearsing Now Be Thankful http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oGfDvdDudVUMatthews Southern Comfort, FC with Flowers Of The Forest, Now Be Thankful (including the 'squalor' of The Angel ) and someone wearing only a towel http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R-TtimYCR5c&feature=fvw

Utterly fab. Better not show the missus, she'll come over all unnecessary seeing Simon again in all his "Prince Valiant" glory! Thanks for posting.

Thanks so much for pointing to these. I saw the listing somewhere once about this show but have never been able to find it. Sounds like Robert ("Robin") MacNeil narrating, from the old MacNeil Lehrer News Hour on PBS here in the States.

Ah, that makes slightly more sense of it all. I did think the programmes seemed a little unfocused, what with all that druid stuff going on. Not quite sure what point they were trying to make.
What surprised me was The Angel - nowhere near as bad as I had imagined. In my mind's eye I saw dark and dingy rooms, brown lincrusta-covered walls, smoke stained ceilings and sinks piled high with dirty dishes. Apart from an overgrown garden full of discarded vehicles (which the children must have loved!), the rooms seemed quite light and airy, if a little run-down - pretty much standard student accommodation at that time, I'd have thought.
