I'm getting pretty fond of this take of Percy's Song from the BBC sessions that were released as Heyday: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bt1mUCHgJu8&feature=related

Who's the organ player?

Good question. According to Expletive-Delighted,

http://www.musikfolk.co.uk/expletive-delighted/index.html

Richard played on the album, so possibly on the session too, through the wonders of multi tracking. Although this source suggests it was Sandy.

Another one from the Birmingham Uni film from 1974 -

Fiddlestix

Picture quality as ordinary as the others from the film, but still rare!

Richard Thompson, with a solo version of Meet On The Ledge - recorded at the Port Fairy Folk Festival in Australia, 2006.  This is from the (apparently now deleted) DVD of the event and is RT's only track on it.

Here are two "videos" of rarely if ever mentioned Fairport songs.

Eastern Rain - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GTOejLE87T8

I'll Keep It With Mine - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CUtFXmS9FmA

The latter is my personal favourite of anything Fairport have ever done. That these two recordings are on just one side of an early LP remains an absolutely staggering achievement. Harmonies to die for. Thompson, still only just old enough to go into pub legally...

To keep amused those of us who aren't currently at Cropredy - here's a couple of rare videos of the 1992 (newly acoustic) Albion Band, with AH, Julie Matthews, Simon Care & Keith Hinchliffe :

Set Their Mouths To Twisting / Hanging Tree

tune set

An under-recorded (or barely recorded!) line-up.

A couple more clips from the early 90s acoustic Albion Band - this time the 'Acousticity' line-up of Hutchings, While, Nicol & Reed:

I managed to piece together what I think was the whole of the Celebration TV show from 1981 courtesy of YouTube last night. Lousy picture quality but pretty good sound. What a wonderful thing. I didn't realise it existed until yesterday. Swarb in cracking form. I wish it was available commercially.

I've had a quick go on the search button but there's nothing which is mentions The Brilliancy Medley from the OGWT, which has been posted on the Word blog... http://www.wordmagazine.co.uk/content/chops-ahoy-swarbs-giving-it-some-mexican-hat

I love how Mattacks is living up to his t-shirt again. There's a BL clip somewhere where he's wearing a shirt that says MIMING.

Also, is that second tune actually the Cherokee Shuffle? Sounds different to the one I know: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QhtdAGI1dcc&feature=related

Carthy & Swarbrick, with 'Arthur McBride' live in 1991 from the 100 Not Out video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q2n4Td29jmg

I know the tune at the end, and can't think of its name......
