Can't believe I just stumbled on this rarity, and it doesn't seem to have been mentioned here before - the BBC TV programme "Here We Come A Wassailing" from 1977, in good quality.  "Folk customs and ancient rural games Carol singing. Midwinter rituals. Music by the Albion Band. Narrated by John Tams."   In 5 parts, starting here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W5_Z2gw_wek

Never thought I'd see this!  A track or 3 appeared in audio form on the "Songs From The Shows" CDs but to see the video is of course something else again...!

I hope this hasn't come up before, but this is an entirely new one on me: Pegg, Donahue, and Conway playing a rock band in the 1982 film Who Dare Wins. Can't say I care much for the music!

Whats funny is I had seen that movie before I knew about Fairport. Then for some reason years later it was on tv, so I'm watching it again, and was screaming....thats Peggy, thats Jerry D.....Who was the singer in the clip? Agreed about it being um....not so great!

Here's the Full House line-up with Linda performing 'Sloth' back in 81.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=neDe_rl1s2A

There's also a clip from the same TV show of them doing 'Bright Lights' complete with brass band.

Cool

Maybe for the first time, there is no youtube clip to post. After hearing what Jude said yesterday about Joe Boyd, I've been looking for a clip of Eastern Rain. I cannot find one. If anyone knows of one, or indeed can post anything, please do let me know. Even just the music.

I have the song on the original LP, but it would seem the whole world is missing out on something special.

Thought Jude should see this. The comments are indeed well deserved.

That would be a real shame. There is something really special about Fairport with female vocals - and as only one of those is still with us today you would think she'd be part of the celebrations...
