Given the chatter about the relative merits of past & present line-ups, it's probably worth re-posting a link to this half hour of sheer delight from 1970. Not new, but I only saw it for the first time last night. The exuberance of the performance provides that spark of excitement that is, to my ears, all too rare these days. Pretty fab in my 'umble https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SQsMdKcXyRE Also available in colour.....somewhere! Jules Cheers, Jules. It's not immediately obvious, lurking in the ina archive I assume. I'm more than happy to have found a b&w copy.

I have seen this one in color. I believe this is the one that keeps getting pulled from YT periodically, unless I am mistaken. So if I have it right, Baton Rouge (with Judy and Iain) is on Youtube in color and b & w as is this one.

No, I mean this one. Colour clips have been on YouTube at various times. Jules

Always nice to see RT supporting the bhoys, up the Celts, YNWA, Hail hail. A mate of mine proudly showed me a photo of RT with a Celtic badge pinned to his beret. I was able to trump him big style with this clip! Don't know if it's commonly known that RT's great uncle was Bert Thomson who was one of Celtic's best players in the 1930s. He also played and scored for Scotland! He died at the young age of 30 and a crowd of 10,000 attended his funeral. There must be a song in there!?

Fwiw, my opinion on the 3 tracks in this session:
Myths and Heroes - a really good performance of arguably one of the strongest post-'85 Fairport recordings. Gives one hope.
ATWCH - not a fan of the song, and think Simon's vocal is rather affected, but it's quite fun.
John Condon - I really really don't like this at all. Nice sentiment and all that, but I found it twee and trite, I'm afraid.

These videos for me wasn't about the songs...it was more the band as a 'close up' act watching how skilfully they do play, Simon's voice seemed so rich and it made me appreciate them more musically somehow.

Now that's obscure! Top find! Jules Absolutely - the obscurer the better ! Also, the video of Tale In Hard Time from Cropredy 2002 above is wonderful, somehow I'd missed this previously (actually, I must confess to not remember them playing it on the night either). Are there any full Cropredy 2002 Friday and Saturday setlists posted anywhere ?
