Couldn't find the Little Hadham performance, which is a shame because LH is only just up the road (relatively speaking.) But my search on YouTube did lead me to the Ainsdale Beach show for the first time (which i see has been discussed before) - I've only watched Journeyman's Grace so far & need to see Steeleye from the same day , but it looks like tele' gold - why on earth can not more of these gems be released on dvd ?  |

Try typing in Fairport Convention 1970. It is 7 min 27 secs and was put up by someone by name of Adamski to whom many thanks.
I forgot to say on the Richard and Linda one the playing of Simon and Peggy is a sheer delight.

The Little Hadham footage is from a 1970 TV documentary London Rock, which in addition to Fairport featured The Faces, Linda Lewis and Marc Bolan. The YouTube clips are taken from a Sky Arts re-broadcast a couple of years ago.

Here's a rare audio recording of Dave Swarbrick with Australian bush-rock (etc) band Eureka, live in 1995. He did record a mini-album with them in 1998, but this is at the launch of the Attic Tracks CD. It's the Traffic rather than Fairport version of John Barleycorn, and I don't know if he's done a folk rock version of Lachlan Tigers before or since. Jules I agree but, as you said, he played the fiddle (and a touch of mandolin and did the odd bit of songwriting) too. His contribution was a tiny bit more than being 'lead singer'. |

I really enjoyed Ruth Angells playing and Rufus did a Rufus Wainwright version of Who Knows, which I really liked alot more than the many Sandy impressions you get. |

Until Michael Jerome posted it on his FB page, I hadn't seen this 50min RT TV show. MJ, Danny T, Pete Z & Teddy T comprise this particularly good line-up. I was fortunate to see them a couple of times, with one outstanding gig somewhat off the beaten track, in Brecon. Simon has recently posted this on his FB page. "A big lift of the Lynch-Lid to Ralph Butler for bringing this little gem to my attention. I hope the RT branch of the Fairport family will enjoy the entire 90 minute TV concert we did (when I was still in my twenties!) A short-lived touring combo of Richard and Linda Thompson, Dave Pegg, yours truly and Michael Spencer-Arscott playing up a nice steady storm behind the kit. He doesn't seem to be on FB but members of his family are, back at his home in Bermuda, where he is still in music, seemingly producing but hopefully still keeping his playing chops up. There are some interesting items in the repertoire, many of which have sadly not been seen or heard since. Hard Luck Stories, Sunnyvista, Don't Let a Thief etc etc. And I should apologise for my stage outfit. I was being post-ironic, channeling my inner Golf-Club Secretary. Honest."
