Thanks.

What's a "Lynch-Lid"?

If you have not quite half an hour to spare, perhaps you may like to hear Simon and Ric in duo format back in 1996.  Nothing from the Fairport repertoire but a few rarities including Morris tunes, Duke Ellington, and the Bach Double Violin Concerto!

I have found a few instances of its use in google and from context it seems to mean cap or hat. No idea of its derivation, though.

In the Sandy Denny & Family group on Facebook, this here was posted.
Can't find it mentioned here yet but this is a bit of a gem to say the least: https://youtu.be/G5IKLoWdGy8

Edit: Jules Gray posted this in the Swarb thread. Still, in case someone missed it there, it's now here in the Youtube Clips section of this parish.

That is indeed a true gem. And it begs the question...does the rest of the programme exist somewhere?

It's Peggy. As to the rest of the program existing, that would certainly be nice, but if I have it right, the audio of this clip was used on Fairport UnConventional along with Breakfast In Mayfair (with Sandy and Simon on lead vocals), and I believe there was a comment about the poor state of the film quality making other such clips difficult. That's just off my memory though which has been known to be faulty!

The rude, alternate, NSFW version of Sailor's Alphabet as put together by Swarb, Pegg and Martin Carthy during the recording of Babbacombe Lee in 1971!
