I've decided to give Burnley a miss this year. Last year they layed the front of the auditorium out with tables and chairs, as though it was a pub or something, and although there would have been plenty of space for all to sit, latecomers like me had to stand around the edges, which was a pain.
Happily, this time the band are visiting Preston Guildhall, where there will be plenty of seats, although it may well be less intimate. So, that's where I'm going!

Good grief, if they are relying on that they will never make it past Adderbury. Grin Grin Grin

Yes, Amy. They can carry up to as many as eight. In fact, at a push they could nearly all sleep in it (so long as they are good friends). Little tardis's they are.

I don't think they will actually be using it, Amy.

The max speed is about 60mph going downhill with a following wind. Hills can be tricky to say the least. Six up with equipment and a deadline to meet would be asking for trouble. There are gears somewhere in the gearbox but it takes a brave man to find them. Double declutching is almost obligatory. 25 mpg is achievable I have been told. They also cost the earth.

They are the original chocolate fireguard, lovely to look at but totally impractical for a touring band.

And I really, really want one!!!!!!

Hope all their gigbags are waterproof then!

I typed that before I saw sandy's post... how does it compare in size with your campervan Sandy?

About the same, as its a modern version. We can only carry four as we have fixed seats that make up the bed, but have had 6 in it 'socialising'

Anyway, way off topic now. Better think of something more appropriate?

I haven't booked anywhere yet but Chippy is a possiblity.

Where would you recommend? Chipping Norton Camping and Caravanning Club is closed until 29 March.

Thanks Sandra. There don't appear to be any caravan parks open close to Chipping Norton. Looks like I'll be creeping into Barnstones in the dead of night. At least I know where everything is there.

Just the two of us at Canterbury then - shall we see if we can get it moved to one of our front rooms ?

Don't panic...I'm an ex resident of the Canterbury / Whitstable / Herne Bay triangle and I can assure you of at least another 3 people who have told me they will be turning up...how about moving it to the pub just across the road from the theatre, then?   Wink

I know some going to that, and I haven't ruled out joining them either. Doesn't Angela & the boys usually frequent this one?
