Just ordered my tickets for the 100 Club for our annual outing to London to see FC. Best venue in the UK! Anyone got any suggestions of a decent show/musical to see on the Saturday 18th Nov in the London area? I don't do ALW or anything Ben Elton has had his paws on but will consider anything else! My brother was in London last weekend and was taken to see the matinee performance of La Boheme (which he rated) for his birthday, and purely on speck when passing the theatre went in and asked if there were any tickets for that evenings performance of Chicago. There was and both he and his wife raved over it. I saw Guys and Dolls earlier this year which was very good except for Neil Morrisey who was average. It now has Claire Sweeney and a certain Patrick Swayze who is certainly worth seeing so if you could get tix for that I'd go there. MikeC

Even tho' I'm probably the only person in the world who has never seen Dirty Dancing I think I could be persuaded to go and see him! Good ideas thanks!

You could try the half-price ticket booth in Leicester Square....
They only sell tickets on the day, though. Chicago is one of those that they regularly feature. Matinee tickets go on sale in the morning, evening tickets go on sale at lunchtime for that days theatre....

Good idea! When we've seen them at the 100 Club we always go to the Japanese Noodle bar across the road. All you can eat for £6 (£5 lunchtime) and the most fantastic fruit juices ever. Last year I totally disgraced myself at the gig by getting ridiculously drunk on Becks & Jamesons chasers and can't remember what I did/said to Ric but I have to say he was a complete gentleman and graciously excused himself from my company mumbling something about the support band (there were V good BTW - Fast Lane Roogalators). The next day we were due to visit the Houses of Parliament at 1pm and we only just made it, even then I had to stop the guided tour twice for a "loo visit" blaming the change in the water. Well, it has been through at least 3 other people by the time you get to drink it ... Of course I won't repeat my behaviour this year.

Maybe there should be a thread things to do before or after your Fairport Gig, I could suggest a tour of closed Underground stations. Although the only way to see them is to pass through them on a normal train (they used to do tours of Aldwych and Down Street but they stopped about 5 years ago - guess why! Apparently the waiting list for the tours was over 5000 when they stopped) . It's just the smugness of knowing where they are, when they closed and what they used to be called. No takers - ah well - maybe I'm just strange!

19 Nov - Camberley (Arts Centre? - no venue given)
Camberley Arts Centre. It used to be the Civic Hall, but it now has a more sexy name(Well sexy for Camberley) Thats where we shall go. Camberley seems to have dissapeared from the tour.

Of course they are! JUst for those who failed to get a Cropredy programme, these are the dates in full....not so many this year owing to recording an album, of course!
19 Nov - Camberley (Arts Centre? - no venue given)
The Camberley Gig isn't on the Fairport website. Is it on or not?

Really disappointed there's nothing very near Bristol, we usually go to sunny Weston Super Mare (winter tours), have travelled to Cardiff, Yoevil, Cirencester, Chippenham and Worcester in the last few years.
Hmmm...I guess it'll have to be Chipping Norton this time, a pleasant trip over the Cotswolds beckons.

It has become evident from the recent Fairport e-newsletter that Simon is not touring with the Dylan Project dates immediately after this tour, instead giving himself wholeheartedly to the Albion Band Xmas Show.
