So have just bought a double on Ebay, Knights of the Road... Live at the Royal Albert Hall June 1975
Rather echoy, hissy, various volumes... Denny, Peggy, Donahue (?), Swarb, Nichol, Lucas, Mattocks(?) line up.. (at a guess!)
Anybody know the origin of this one?

I can tell you Simon wasn't on stage although he may have been in the audience. If you look at my photo album, you will find a few photos from that concert. Nice fashions.

I was in the audience (and therefore on the CD - can I have my cut please?). It was the "Fairport Live" line up - ie the Nine band plus Sandy. And one of the most memorable nights of my life. I've got a review of it somewhere from the Guardian, which I'll post later when I've found it.

If this was June 1975 it would have been Bruce Rowland on drums - not D.M.

bootleg covers arnt neccessarily too accurate, they may have just used an old photo because according to the date the BR would have been the drummer

Pink Robert (just Google) wasn't available for new signups for quite a while but it is now. Knights of the Road is still being seeded there.

There's a boot on dime from Finland in 1971. It's the foursome lineup, Babbacombe Lee, and this is one hell of a rocking set! There's a certain rawness to it that's really striking... What a lineup! Nicol could be in a punk band on this. The Matty Groves is absolutely stunning. Sound quality is incredible - no hiss, no echo... Sounds like a pro recording.

I wonder if this is the same 1971 show that provided the version of Tam Lin as found on the Swarb! box set? Does it give a date, or even just a month for the recording? As regards the Knights Of The Road boot, I'd love to hear Fairport do the title song live, as the version on Rosie was more of a "Fotheringport Confusion" recording. Same with Plainsman. Are there soundboard recordings out there of either of these two songs? Jules
