Rosin up the bow...

WWW
« on: October 30, 2006, 03:09:22 PM »

I just stumbled across this...

http://www.pandora.com/music/song/3d09e06f6629c423

Not heard it before... does anybody have this version? Guitar work sounds awesome! And the dialogue sounds amusing too...

It does exactly what it says on the tin.  It's a newly edited version of the song stuck together from loads of different versions for the Fairport Unconventional box set...

Much as I love the current line-up, I miss Maart as well - he must surely feature quite a bit in next year's set, being as he was in one of the longest-running line-ups?

' he must surely feature quite a bit in next year's set, being as he was in one of the longest-running line-ups?'

Sorry don't know how to do boxed quotes.

On the subject of longevity of lineiups:

The Maart-Peggy-Norm-DM-RIc line up was THE longest running - but at the end of this month the current line up will be the second longest overtaking Bruce-Swarb-Norm=Peggy at 8 years 8 months.

Amazing the things you can find not to do work.

Norm?  I take it this refers to Simon.  I haven't heard him called Norm before.  What's the story with this?

Glad somebody else asked....!

I've been watching, listening to, and reading about the band for a quarter of a century or more and yesterday was the first time I've ever heard Simon being called anything other than Simon...
