Does anyone remember a few years ago a contestant on Mastermind had Fairport Convention as their specialist subject? I can't remember much about it (other than John Humphreys having never heard of the band!).

I wonder who set the questions? And who was the contestant - is he "one of us"? And just out of interest, what were the questions?

The question setter was listed in the programmes end credits - I think it was Colin Irwin, but the memory is a bit rusty.

There were over 20 questions, my memory is a bit etc etc....

There is no member here who has owned up to being that person in the chair.

He turned up at a Fairport gig in Leek in between recording and broadcast, and was pointed out by Simon. I don't recognise him from any other pics I've seen. Assume he comes from the Midlands or North West. Dave Rhead of Leek FC (Cuckoos Nest) might know.
