As I am to miss Fairport at the Pavilion Worthing next week in favour of the Show of Hands gig at the Halfmoon Putney on the same night, I thought I better make an effort to see the boys before Croppers, and to get my hands on the new CD!

Any one from here planning to go up smoke on Monday 12th?
I see the 'show' is at 7pm so I think a full day browsing the guitar shops in Charing Cross Road is in order as well!  Grin

I am hoping to go - but am not sure how late to leave it to get a Fop wristband.  Don't want to go too early and have to hang around for hours but also don't want to arrive too late and miss out.

I'm planning on being there, but again am not sure when to turn up at the shop for a wristband.  I guess some enterprising soul needs to phone the shop and find out their usual habits re when they start handing wristbands out for these events...  No point turning up at 9am if they don't open the stall until lunchtime...

I'll try to call them sometime tomorrow, but won't make any promises until lunctime at least (and I might forget completely, it's that manic around here some days!)  So don't rely on me...

I rang FOPP for details. The store opens at 9.am and they will start giving out wristbands then. Apparently there are only 170 available and they will be giving out a maximum of two per customer.

Will see what I can do re videoing, pictures & stuff.  Problem is I am a bit shy so although I'll take both cameras, knowing me I'll chicken out of actually asking permission etc.  I'm sure oor Chris will be positively bedecked with cameras though...

Only the weekend to get through... Cheesy

There's no problem with cameras, along as it's not professional kit.

I will be there with a still camera only though.

I understand that someone has enquired of FC about cameras & video.

The official line I've been asked to pass on is...
as far as Iconic, FOPP and FC are concerned amateur not-for-sale video and still pics -inc flash - are fine.

Picked up my wristband - YAY! Cheesy

See the exclusive few there!

I forgot to pick up my tiara this morning but I'll be the one lugging the motorcycle gear around...  If I'm really lucky I'll be able to change into my jeans in the Ladies, but will still have helmet, boots, jacket etc to deal with.  Ah well, at least it won't take me too long to get there from Uxbridge.

If it matters, I've got my flourescent (2005) Cropredy t-shirt to wear..

That was great fun!

I was told they were going to play 9 tracks, but I lost count after about 4 so couldn't swear to that.  Can't even remember what they did play...

But!

I did video most of them.  Missed Widow of Westmoreland because my arm was hurting, and Meet because it felt somehow sacreligious to video it rather than sing along at the top of my voice.

I will try to get something up on thingy-wotnot, ummm, that internet thing, as soon as I get the files off the camera and work out how to upload them to wotnot.  I promise not to give the game away about the 4-part harmony, although I know who does it now...

Also met the very nice Mr PJ Wright, who gave me a copy of his CD, Hedge of Sound.  Tell you what, that's pretty darn good too, and nobody told me that Jude Rees was on it!  (My favourite oboist from Isambarde - check them out if you don't believe me, she's great and folk music will never be the same again!)  But I digress, Mr Wright is a fine fella and everyone ought to have a copy of all his CD's!

Not at FOPP, unless they were being covert about it, but maybe at the lunchtime thing?
