Well, the votes for the Hancocks are over for another year.
In a little while I'll set up some places where we can sort out who gets to present which awards to whom.

Best Traditional Track was so close!
Seth had a strong early lead but that started to diminsh following the debate on what's Traditional. Tim started gaining ground by a handful of votes each day but it was only late on Saturday evening that he finally tipped the balance.
No complaints for Seth though, he got the Folk Singer award by a good margin.

Didn't vote for it but was sorely tempted, I think it is a very attractive version of the song. Well done Tim and crew.
I don't like Salsa Celitca's version of the Grey Cock much (though I do like Eliza singing the song unaccompanied), but I'm surprised it didn't do better than it did.

Salsa Celtica are this years 'Unknowns' as far as the Hancocks are concerned. I suspect not many have yet seen or heard them - certainly very few members of Talkawhile have mentioned them in posts. Yes they should be Bob. They're there but currently hidden. It was 6am when I worked on writing up the results so didn't have time to do anything to properly archive the original discussions so I tucked them away for later.

Nevermind, you'll all be fans soon Julie Fowlis, definitely one to watch out for, if you can catch her live, she's worth the effort of listening to songs in Gaelic Sticking with the Scots, Dick Gaughan is 60 next year, just to plant a seed, it may be worth considering a 'most politically consistent pony tailed folk singer from Leith' category in honour of that event for next years awards  |
