There is plenty of time for that to happen with the Swarb award. Unlike, say, the Seth award which still resides far from its intended destination not 5 days before it is to be handed over  Embarrassed  Undecided The pixies will require a special winged chariot to solve that one!

Cheers

Nick

I have every faith in the pixies, go little people go!

Fat Billy, you've been given the go-ahead to present a  Hancock Award Hancock to Bellowhead at SpanFest   Fez

The venue organisers have given their go-ahead, as have the band's management.

Only one thing remains; I need your address!!!

Please let me know via IM where to send the trophy to.

Cheers

Carey Hancock was the best b*****d we ever had on the board. And that's saying something.  Smiley

It certainly is cocker and he certainly was. Good man sadly missed.  Cry

without Carey and his boundless enthusiasm this place may well have petered out as so many sites do
he was a top bloke, although weve had some rum old bastards like that Lucky bloke who tipped up from america and terrorised half the country

A terrific chap.  He was related to Carey Hancock, I believe.  Lucky Hancock.

Lucky came to stay at Peel Towers.  Just before his departure from the USA his dog chewed off his leg by mistake but it didn't hamper his progress.  No, not in the slightest.
Nor indeed was he hampered by a lack of fingers on his right hand and a complete absence of front teeth.  We could forgive him the unfortunate propensity to get one's name wrong (Dave Sworebrush and Captain Pigswish, to mention but two) and to seduce one's wife while one fetched a good bottle from the cellar, and even the ear-splitting odd 'Yee-ha!' or twelve.  I had to have strong words with him, though, when he insisted on wearing a leopard skin thong about the house.  He left it here.  Lady Peel often wears it over her drawers, in his honour.

Yep a fine fellow in doin appallin work in other people's parishes. His best tarry of course was down Essex where he put up with several members, 'proved the place no end.

Very pleased to announce...:

Fez Hancock Award Tiara Amethyst will be presenting Ashley Hutchings with the 'All Round Good Egg Folkie' Hancock at Woodford Halse on 8th August!

This is the Rainbow Chasers/Pentangle concert that was scheduled alongside the Warm-Up Concerts, originally at the Mill in Banbury.

I guess there will be a big Talkawhile contingent there. Cheer loudly everyone!

Cheers

Amyjen made a brilliant speech (wearing very sparkly earrings!) and presented the All Round Good Egg Folkie Hancock Award.

and Ashley accepted it with great pleasure (and a terrible yolk)

The next Hancock presentation will be this coming Friday at Pontardawe where Kath will be passing the Musician of the Year award to Dave Swarbrick.

I know that some of you have already made your plans to be there to see Swarb receive this award and the significance of this occasion will not be lost upon you. Whether you have been with Talkawhile for years or days, have posted 2000 times or once, if your spine tingles and heart leaps when Mr Swarbrick draws bow across strings then I hope that you will be able to find your way to Pontardawe this Friday.

Have a look at the festival line up at http://www.pontardawefestival.com and make a weekend of it.  Wink

Friday with be tremendous with Leatherat preceding Swarb's Lazarus... I can't think of anywhere else that I would rather be.

See you in Pontardawe on Friday  Fez
