Radio 2 Folk news website has a list of guest at this gig which I do not think has been mentioned before DAVE PEGG BOX SET AND BIRTHDAY CONCERT [11/04/07] 2007 is a gala year for Fairport Convention bassist Dave Pegg. On July 30th, Free Reed will release A Box Of Peggs, a four-CD box set representing his 44-year musical career. For the past 12 months Pegg has been working closely with compiler Nigel Schofield on a limited edition of 2000 copies which will contain over 70 tracks, many rare and previously unreleased, plus a 100-page illustrated book. The first 500 pre-orders received by May 31st will earn their purchasers a bonus CD of additional tracks and a namecheck in the book by way of thanks. Then on November 2nd Pegg celebrates his 60th birthday, which will be marked with a concert on the following day at the recently-renovated Birmingham Town Hall. Dave has invited a host of his musical chums including fellow Fairporters, Jethro Tull's Ian Anderson, Steve Ashley, Steve Tilston, Ian Campbell, the Dylan Project, Dave Swarbrick, Beryl Marriott and more to join him onstage in what promises to be a musical feast. Tickets are now on sale from the box office on 0121 780 3333. Details of how to order A Box Of Peggs from Fairport Convention's website.
...and.......!!

These people have not only been approched, but have 'expressed an interest' Fairport Convention, Ian Anderson and Martin Barre from Jethro Tull, Maartin Allcock, BobFox, Anna Ryder, Tiny Tin Lady, Steve Ashley, Steve Tilston, Ian Campbell, Steve Gibbons, P.J. Wright plus Beryl and Roger Marriott. Also, GF, someone has already got their tickets, according to a comment made of FC's website. Maybe you did ring the wrong place ? What do you mean, "expressed an interest"? He'll be there.

Just spotted on FC's website that more tickets are being made available for this gig. They are behind the stage and cost £12.50. Peggy assures us that "we will turn around from time to time!" LOL! Get yours now..........

Althoug I will not be there for those wanting pre show drinkies i would heartily recommend the Wellington on Bennets Hill, very close the the TH. Brum's real ale pub with 30 - 40 on at any one time. Only oroblem is no food but you can take your own in with you if you want and I am sure there are some takeaways nearby. Alternatively if you want a fantastic pie and chips the Old Joint Stock near the cathedral, again only a coupleof minutes from the venue, is very good value and serves a great pint of Fullers.
