Why don't you have two CD's each and then swap every 6 months  Wink

More info from the Fairport website on tracks

Thanks to all of you who have pre-ordered your copy of 'A Box of Peggs'.

Peggy is delighted with the response so keep 'em coming.

We have a few more details to whet your whistle. The box has a cribbage board theme and feratures 26 previously unreleased tracks drawn from Peggy's extensive career featuring various FC line ups, Jethro Tull, The GPs, The Ian Campbell Folk Group, The Dylan Project, Richard Thompson and Beth Neilsen Chapman.

Even after 18 months of hard slog and wrangling with record companies, the compilation is still being put together and we hope to include rarities from Marc Ellington, Mike Heron, Julianne Regan, Nick Drake, Dan Ar Braz, Ralph McTell, The Uglys, annA rydeR, Bob Fox, Simon Nicol, Excalibur, The Dave Peace Quartet, Steve Ashley, The Crawdaddys and Murray Head.

As we have previously mentioned, subscription orders are being taken now and the completed box set will be shipping in early August, just in time for Cropredy!

I'm SOOOO glad that I convince my Mum!

Mmmm, god bless his soul. Such a waste of life. He really could have gone on to bigger and better things.

Oh ha ha, I was talking about Nick Drake! But thats off topic! Can't wait for the box set and it's Cribbage form. Should be good. I read somewhere that Peggy was also writing a book?

I'm kinda hoping that it's not the booklet for the box. He said in Cropredy 06 program that it would be to co-inside with the box set release.

Re Nick Drake
Talented as he was, he was never going on to bigger and better things, his mental state saw to that
It is probably because he was the way he was that his music has the lasting resonance that it posesses
remember he sold precious few lps during his life and was only retained on island as a pet project by Chris Blackwell
his music stands as his monument

I reckon Nick Drake would eventually have got out of performing. He'd probably be presenting Match Of The Day now or be just back from the World Cup cricket.

Hippy Peggy indeed...that is a cosmic phot  Grin

Now all Mr Pegg needs to do is persuade SWARB to write a book too. I suppose it would need a Parental Guidance sticker on it though.

AAAARRRRGGGGHHHHH!!! Somebody has let the pedant out again...

Has anyone else wondered if that's an apostrophe next to the second G on the picture of the box set on the website - and if it'll be there on the final article?

There's no sign of it in the write-up...

Technically, it's correct. Peggy's surname is Pegg. Singular.

I'm wondering if it's intentional, sort of a play on words/punctuation: "a box of Pegg's music"
After all, Peggy is unique: they can't possibly have meant that to be plural!  Grin Wink
