I'm always inclined to look at the potential musicianship involved, rather than any name.

Yes, but....  I'm sure they took a commercial decision to go with this name...thinking it would add to their potential draw, but I can't see it myself...I have to say it makes me very uncomfortable indeed.

I'm not sure about this lot. Anyone who calls themself a legend is a bit up themselves in my opinion (this doesn't look like irony).

It was the manager's idea, not the band. They are not happy being called "Legends". Rick said: "You can call RT or Swarb a legend, but not us." I think he is right. But I call Clive "leg end" now  
They are looking for a better name.
"The Gathering" is a Dutch Heavy Metal band. Could be interesting in the Netherlands: a sold out gig, heavy metal audience and then : Folk Rock

TBH, I was confused by the name when I heard people mention it here - I did think they were referring to the Dutch group (Of which I own a few CDs!).
