I'm always inclined to look at the potential musicianship involved, rather than any name.

Yes, but.... Wink  I'm sure they took a commercial decision to go with this name...thinking it would add to their potential draw, but I can't see it myself...I have to say it makes me very uncomfortable indeed.

I'm not sure about this lot. Anyone who calls themself a legend is a bit up themselves in my opinion (this doesn't look like irony).

It was the manager's idea, not the band. They are not happy being called "Legends". Rick said: "You can call RT or Swarb a legend, but not us." I think he is right. But I call Clive "leg end" now  Grin
They are looking for a better name.
"The Gathering" is a Dutch Heavy Metal band. Could be interesting in the Netherlands: a sold out gig, heavy metal audience and then : Folk Rock  Tongue

After they've already announced the tour?  Ummm, perhaps they should start by getting another manager?

TBH, I was confused by the name when I heard people mention it here - I did think they were referring to the Dutch group (Of which I own a few CDs!).

I think they should call themselves:

Jerry Donahue's Fairport Convention Smiley

Well I'll be in the Scarisbrick before hand and then in the Arts Centre Bar at half time so if anyone else is in Southport on the 1st Dec see you there.
