Aha so he does! Can't read the caption, it passes by a bit fast or seems a bit blurry to my eyes, or is it me? Well Done on finding that one H.

Nice one H, I don't recall Ralph playing guitar without a thumb pick before. Thanks Well, I think he often plays without one Maybe it depends on the state of his thumb nail. Anyway this was playback, so he didn't need to play for real

AHA ! Thought so Well, actually I think this is a case for the special TAW agents, Joanna ... you know those with a license to thrill ... Meanwhile the rest of you can enjoy this rather peculiar Ralph cover http://www.youtube.com:80/watch?v=Ahxhj3aSbpsIt seems those "spare Danes" up North over there have their very own and very peculiar interpretation of Ralph's work - very interesting and hilarious to listen to. I can imagine other of Ralph songs being exposed to this treatment ... anyone want to have a go at that ? No, I am fortunately excused for obvious reasons - and that would be really silly and most embarrassing LOL H. PS. "indeed" ? hmmm, now, where did I hear that word before ?

Wondering if this is the advertising song that Ralph made for Skol beer in the late 80's ? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gK7n1Q-fDeAIt does have that certain "je ne sais Ralph", doesn't it ? H. PS. Anyone knows what the real song sounds like ? Is it on YouTube ?

I have it as a 45rpm. It's called The Winner's Song. Don't know if it's on Boob Tube.

If not, thou will have to bring thy ould grammophone down from the loft and start transfering this 45 rpm treasure to mp3 or similar format, Marianne Did you already have the "Wind in the Willows" clips btw. ? I had completely forgotten to look for that series until now. H.

I have a VHS tape of the winter programmes that someone bought me years ago, just for the fact that Ralph sings for a few seconds at the beginning and end.

The WITW theme tune is on the R A & S site on this page, but not the piccies - so thanks for that H. (Incidentally, 2 more installments of John B's interview with Ralph are also now on that site, on the 'Multimedia' menu, under 'Telling Tales'.) Naomi

Thanks, Naomi - had only just noticed myself that there are new exciting tales waiting to be read Yes, I had noticed that old, scratchy recording of the Wind in the Willows - wonderful tune and song. HINT You may also want to check out the very intesting link at the top of this page : http://www.ralph-mctell.co.uk/brightonbelle.htmlDon't think it has been there all along, has it ? Enjoy - I did ! Interesting - would be fun to watch and hear sometime But "Winner's /Winter's Song" was a whole song - not just a short jingle? - , so that it was act. one side of a single ?
