We could go to the Shetland Islands too to see John Gaudie's old home.

Oh yes and Chris Leslie learned to make fiddles in the middle of Newark!

I guess that would make sense of the album name.  I had wondered...

Smiddyburn is in Aberdeenshire - and if you want to know exactly where -click here!

I love the fact that it's close to a place called Dubbystyle. Seems somehow appropriate for someone who works in the music business Smiley

Anyone know if the old manor house used for the Leige & Lief rehearsals is still standing? Called Farleigh Chamberlayne, or something like that, wasn't it? Where actually was it? Somewhere in Hampshire, near Winchester?

I'm surprised no ones mentioned Cecil Sharp House, where Ashley spent hours trawling through the archives

Shocked  I'd call the first place that Swarb performed after his surgery quite historical Shocked
Also, anyone who is interested in FC information would be interested in the individuals who form/have formed the band, which I think makes where Chris learned to make fiddles perfectly legtimate!

If it were the history of FC, maybe, but I thought we were discussing the History of Folk-Rock?.....which makes these rather a side-topic....

Fools rush in and all that.... but it's never stopped me before

Who knows whether what happens today may be seen, on reflection, as a notable occasion ?

A reunion or indeed a return to performing could conceivable be seen as such - expecially with someone as influential as Mr Swarbrick.

I think that we may look back at Lazarus' rising and tell our grandchildren 'I was there, you know'.... in fact, I already do

Who's sore?    Petty Chris, very petty! FC are part of Folk/Folk Rock history, and Chris Leslie hasn't only ever been in Fairport, and that's definitely my last word on this topic/thread  Lips Sealed
