Andy L mentioned Led Zep being at Knebworth... I was at one of them too (wasn't you that nicked my ladybird tobacco tin was it Leslie?  ) Anyway... weren't these the last two UK gigs that Led Zep performed with Bonzo ? Someone will know and I can't be arsed to check. Anyway... if this is the case, then the surely the second gig (though we didn't know it at the time) was a little bit of rock history... though sad, like many event in rock history. Where did Peter Green play his first comeback gig.... ? That's worthy of note surely. |

The only (very loosely) FC-related gig I went to back then was the gig The Stranglers played at Alexandra Palace which turned out to be Hugh Cornwell's last gig with the band. As RT fans might know, Hugh played bass in a school band with RT. |

What's the address of the Fairport house? I lived in Muswell Hill from 88-91 but knew nought about the band back then so might have walked past the house without realising its significance. Corner of Fortis Green (NOT Fortis Green Road) and Fortismere Avenue. Not for much longer, methinks. I remember calculating that the leasehold would expire in 2007 so the Westminster Estate (I THINK) would reclaim the Freehold. Patch of land that size in that postcode could happily accomodate 25 maisonettes at £450K apiece. You do the math! Bye Bye old Family Home..... |

Depends which comeback you mean. He played live in the late 70's and early 80's too - in a band led by Pete Bardens (of Camel). I saw them at a pub in Midhurst, West Sussex...probably '83 but I can't remember exactly. Good bar-room blues stuff but Green was barely there...musically or mentally. I seem to remember the first of the 90's comeback gigs was at Buxton but I may be wrong... |

The value of the potential development would exclude it, Ollie....you just wouldn't spend that amount to preserve something unrecognised by at least 50% (and that's conservative) of the UK population.
