Corner of Fortis Green (NOT Fortis Green Road) and Fortismere Avenue. Not for much longer, methinks

Right! We're back in the UK in early August (for some reason that I can't quite remember now), so I'm definitely going to take the Tube to East Finchley...

Surely it should have to take into account factors like length of leg and type of shoe tread in order to give a truly accurate travel time for pedestrians.....?

The house still has its Fairport name (something I always look out for when I go past) but I'm not sure it is a doctor's any more. I don't recollect seeing a doctor's name plate on display in recent years. I am quite prepared to be proved wrong though.
