I´ve been searching the different topics for the Fotheringay II thread. I thought the release date was imminent - or that it had been released around Cropredytime.I wish to order my copy through my local musicshop which couldn´t find a trace. please put me on the right track! Smiley

Wait another year ... Oct 2008! But what's another year anyway when it's in the pipeline this long.
However it seems to be definetely on.

After the wonderful Cropredy I have just had, I don't think I could take any more excitement Grin

2008 will come round all too soon.

Confession time. The one startling  gap in my Fairport and related collection is Fotheringay. I keep hearing that it is great and I don't know why I don't have it. It is on the list and I think I had better investigate imminently.  Embarrassed

Definitely a startling gap that needs to be filled.  It's right up there with all that is great in the FC canon of works.

I thought Fotheringay II was set for this October.  Have I missed news of a further delay?

'Fraid so. See this link: http://dmme.net/specials/foth.html
It takes you to a message from Jerry Donahue where he explains reasons for delay: Universal were slow to supply the masters; when they arrived there was more stuff than he was expecting (new material from Trevor); he's tied up with other commitments to the end of this year. That takes us into 2008. Why October? - I can only speculate that's to do with David Suff's release schedule. Still, we've waited 37 years for this album, so what's another year, eh?

Thanks for the info, guys.  I'll have to be careful crossing the road for a whole extra year!
