Just found out about this. http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio2/listings/day.shtml#eveningFrom the R2 website: Mike chats to musician Dave Pegg whose work with artists such as Nick Drake, Fairport Convention, Jethro Tull and John Martyn has recently been documented in a 4 CD box set and book called A Box of Peggs. The preview in the Times was (mostly) better than that! Mike Harding, Radio 2, 7pm Lovers of the glory days – if there were any – of British folk-rock will not want to miss Harding interviewing Dave Pegg, whose wizardry on a variety of stringed instruments, but mainly the double and electric bass, has kept him employed these past four decades in the service of such as Nick Drake, Fairport Convention, Jethro Tull and John Martyn. It is all tied to the recent release of a four-CD box set, A Box of Pegg’s, which should fit snugly in someone’s stocking this festive tide, hint hint. If there were any??

There is a picture of him playing the double-bass somewhere in the box set. He mentions it in his write-up on the FC website but seems a bit sheepish about it. I think it's one of those things he did once for a session and has never lived down...
Edit - I'd hardly say "mainly" though.

Luckily for me, 7pm is when the Archers comes on Radio 4, so it's about the only time in the day I can get access to re-tune the darn thing!
