If I was still in the UK I'd probably buy the player and the cartridges! Great memories ... my first introduction to 10cc was via 8-track ... and good it was too

I'm surprised you've driven since as well I wasn't driving. I was stuck in the passenger seat cos my walking boots would fit in the footwell but not move. One leg roasted, the other leg froze

You don't see them that much today. Have seen them occasionally in Junk Shops.
Good page about the critters on Wikipedia.

My friend swears that the pink floyd 8 track of animals had an estra intrumental song. Does anyone know if that is true. Surely, it would be added to the cd release if it were so. But I have heard that some 8 tracks had a few rarities.

The 8 track of Animals has an instrumental bridge between the two parts of pigs on the wing performed by Snowy White, you can get a copy of it on one of the Snowy White solos albums. http://www.rock.co.za/files/pink_floyd_animals_8track.html

You know, I heard that Snowy White had been in Floyd, but could never recall hearing him.

He played guitar (and a LOT of bass, Waters favouring rhythm guitar for some reason) on the Animals tour 1977. I remember it for all the wrong reasons, smashed my car up on the way home from Wembley.

Yes, but with the added 'bonus' of sound seepage from the other 'side'. Sounded good in my Uncle's posh Jag in the early 70's

So it is true. The imaginary live tracks sound interesting as well. Thanks for the info. I had doubted my friend, even though he swore it was true.
