Hmmm....it was quite good, that professionally recorded programe....I prefer the tape I took at the time, can hear the family singing along better and I like the big bass drum sound, a more authentic memory of a great Cropredy, even if it does wake the students next door... Wow... Shivers up the spine!!!!!!!!!!!! Bloody hell! And I've not even got to the end of the first track yet...

I was moved to tears all over again by Come All Ye, by Farewell Farewell, and by Swarb's interview comments about not hearing the album since Sandy died.
But they had RT's interview over the top of the intro to The Deserter! Why?!?!

I'm pretty certain all this stuff is deliberate to thwart bootleggers.

I wish it hadn't been that song - I love Swarb's intro to that.

Just giving the "Listen Again" a go.
Although I heard Chris While several times during the last few years and of course saw/heard her as well at Cropredy this year it just astonishing how hauntingly beaitiful her voice is. Reynardine is just cracking!
Keeping fingers crossed for a proper CD release

Listening now, I can't imagine bigger shoes to fill than those Chris While had to - what a job she does, absolutely beautiful, a real sympathy for and understanding of the songs.

Hopefully it'll turn up in official form on DVD or CD I understand that the BBC own the rights to this - and I also understand that the considered opinion is that they feel everyone will have downloaded it. i.e. a cat's in hell chance of it appearing on CD. It wasn't filmed in its entirety, so that probably answers the other part of the question.

Judging by the clamour here, there is a strong demand for a clean copy. I would certainly buy it as I have not really mastered the downloading thing and enjoyable though the interviews were, I would prefer a version without them, a straight run through. Also the sound dropped out during Tam Lin in my area so that is imperfect.

farport at the bbc does not contain all the sessions that fc have done for the bbeb so why not a secong volume? one disc with the remaining sessions and another with l&l live? they would sell then i'm certain or even do what fairport did with the cropredy box and ask for the money upfront then send the discs out a bit like what peggy did with his box

I can't see that happening, Jim. Partnering a "best of the rest" with an essential reunion concert would make for an uneven release. Jules
