I think this is called proving there is a demand for these (and the Other Boot / Third Leg) to be reissued on CD.... How about a box set chaps?

Can't agree with your ascertation, I'm afraid, that this proves anything.

There's two bidders on this.

The original boxed tapes turn up on e-bay from time to time and are a much cheaper option.

There's some on there now... the Record Collector price guide on them is 25 quid a shot, and these are much less (he says, as innocently as he can manage)  Smiley

I have The Boot on tape, but I'd dearly love it on CD.  My hi-fi tape deck bit the dust last year, and I really can't see my replacing it.  So at the moment it gets played in the kitchen or the car only.

(That version of Jack Orion by the way - stupendous!!)

Whenever the CD sets appear on eBay they always go for upwards of 50 quid, sometimes 80 and now, this at 100 quid and more...There is a demand for these.  That's all I'm saying...  1000 copies of an 8 or 10 CD set in a nice package (chuck in '85 as well please - I'm happy to supply the recordings!) would sell out easily.  I can't prove it, but I would say 'I told you so' when the sold out notices go out next August....  Smiley

Sorry, can't agree.....many of us have them all, and some will only have one set, on CD already - and there's no way those will pay out again to get a 'whole box' set.

I reckon the demand is only a couple of hundred, and that's a mixture of the two sets.

So that's a 'I have it and I know noone else wants it' is it Chris?  Smiley I'm confident you're wrong.

Well I don't have any of these...

I'd fork out for a box set (or even individual reissues), it would be nice to have a reissue with the opportunity for nice new words in the inlay etc...

But I would only buy one (set), that's true.

Yeah, I'm confident that he's wrong too.  They'd sell plenty at Croppers alone.

So why has 1992 been re-released then?

Much as I love the music and Fairport lineups of the late 70s and early 80s Cropredy´s of which I attended several, I must admit I very seldom play the Cd's. I'm all for new edition -so that all of you who wish to do so can get hold of the music at a reasonable price- but please don't box them. My fear is that such a box would contain one or two "unreleased" tracks & you know where that leads completists like you (?) and me.  Grin Wink

These recordings are still with Woodworm Records, and there are definitely NO plans for them to be re-released any time soon, in any format.

Your best bet is to talk another company (Talking Elephant or some such like) into purchasing the rights from them & putting it out.

I tried that a few months ago, with no response. Prehaps if lots of people e-mailed and asked, we might get somewhere. It also may be worth doing the same at FC's end.

the boots were limited issues so theres probably not much chance of any more
but if Chris Pegg owns them along with woodworm who knows
as woodworm was, we  were told at the time of the split, very much a live concern
