Song writing

Any chance of another Pegg written or co-written song appearing on a future new album,  a Pegg/Leslie track would be gladly received.

Hi, well eventually I hope to find the time to write some more tunes. Having Ric and Chris in the band means there's always an abundance of material and Rics instrumentals for the new album are really good. I have gotten lazy in that respect, but you can't do everything can ya? Regards, Peggy.

I was wondering  when you write your songs  if you get the words first or the tune ?

Ive written a few songs but was wondring how you went about it....

Hi Zouk, well only having written abou t 4 songs in my life I am not really the man to ask!  Lyrics are really difficult for me and on the occasions when I have put pen to paper, it has always been lyrics first. "Song for Sandy" is an example. The stuff I co wrote for "Babbacombe Lee" was an easier task, as thanks to Swarb. having the newspaper cutting, the subject matter was already there and it was just a question of getting it to rhyme. (How frightfully old fashioned!) Cheers, Peggy.

I don't suppose you can recall who wrote which lyrics for 'Babbacombe' Lee, Peggy?  I know Simon wrote Breakfast In Mayfair, and that you all contributed to the music on the album, but I'd assumed that Swarb wrote most of the other words.

I can't remember, but I am fairly sure that Swarb. will have done most. Simon and I were new ( and still are) to songwriting at the time. Gotta go ,oysters and sardines for dinner!
