Hi Peggy,

With the 40th anniversary looming and a big Cropredy ahead (with talk of old members guesting over two nights if I've read the rumors correctly), do you plan on releasing a double dvd or at least a single dvd of next years Cropredy? I live in the US and haven't been able to go yet. But every August I play the dvds that I own as my own personal cropredy. (The 1986 video is my favorite at this moment in time) Who knows, maybe I'll make it next year. In which case I would want a DVD anyway, to remind me of the blurry parts Smiley

Also what about  rereleasing It all comes round on dvd?

Also what about another DVD of all the odd FC footage? Like the Maidstone show, tv appearances, and promo stuff. There seems to be a lot of footage. I can find some of it on youtube, but would like higher quality whenever possible and the ability to purchase official merchandice. Sort of like the airing cupboards tape, but for video. For the fans who wern't around but would drool at the thought of such a treasure.

Thanks for taking the time to answer our questions.

Michael Gardner

Ps  I still hope for a bones of all men 2.

Hi Dave

DVD`s seconded.

Another question: if I remember correctly, Ian Anderson in one of his interviews said that every single concert during the last 2 decades was taped/recorded/whatever.
How is it with Fairport`s concerts ? Audio only, video ?
Follow up question: when may we expect Woodworm Archives # 3 ? What will it cover ?

Last but definitely not least: thanks for decades of great music and long may you run.

Cheers

Hi Peter and Michael. We hope to film next years bash and are in the process of setting up meetings with various film companies. Simon and I had the great pleasure of having lunch with Pennebaker in N.York a few years  ago and at the time he was very keen. If we could get him we could call the 40th. ann. dvd. "Look Back"! What d'you think?
It's very hard for Fairport re. dvds as we have been seriously "ripped off" in the past and the outlay to fund a film project is enormous.  We have friends trying to help out, and I hope it will be sorted.
Most of my FC, videos are still in cardboard boxes, but I have dozens which I will eventually get round to sorting. If anyone out there has footage that might be useful for hysterical or rather historical usage, please let us know. bonne nuit! peggy.

Hi Peggy

So is there going to be a Zeppelin Style How the West was Won retreospective DVD type of thing?

Or is the money going to be the sticking point.

We can only explore dvd possibilities when we know what is available. I personally  gave up years ago trying to find old footage. So  Little was filmed and what was tended to have been chuched or lost. I think the main idea will be to film Cropredy and put some new interviews in. Early days . Cheers, Peggy.

Thanks for the reply Dave.

Kind of like the idea of there not being much material.

Was there any left over from when Ken Russell filmed at Cropredy?

Not to my knowledge, Ken didn't really have much of a clue to be honest!! The result was  very bizarre ,and I doubt if there is any footage left over. 'Twas all mimed anyway.Cheers, Peggy.

Thanks

If memory serves me correctly it was a bizarre time at the show and I didn't see the broadcast as I was working.

But he's not the only person in that field who hasn't got a clue by Saturday afternoon!

Hopefully see you in August
