Hi Dave, Thanks for taking the time and trouble to guest on the board.
I've been attending cropredy since '84 and can say that i agree with the addage; 'If it ain't broke, don't mend it'  There is however one aspect that i miss, and that is the comedy warm up act (Billy Connoly) and a novelty act of some description during the interval.
I'm loathe to abandon a good vantage spot near the front of the stage to visit the 'comfort stations' if I've been on the 6x, so for the past few years you've forced me  Wink Grin to have to drink malt whisky all evening.
Was there any particular reason to abandon the interval? Could it be resurrected?
My own personal idea of a hoot would be to have Jasper Carrot as the warm up, and the ultimate irony of a spinal tap tribute band in the interval, made up of various musical personalities in disguise!!

Thanks again for your time,  Vince

PS, sorry about the attachment below. I was coerced into doing it by a certain Welsh lady who lurks on this board Grin. Hope you like the league of gentlemen or it will go over your head!

hi Vince and Gower !! Morning.
I remember with much amusement when Billy decided to do a spot during our teatime break. Everyone was on their way out of the field to their tents when he decided to get up on the stage. Everyone  flooded back and we had an hour of (in my opinion) the worlds best comedian. A police siren went off and Banburys chief of police was seen exiting the site at great speed. Problem I thought ,and went to Christines caravan to clarify. "It's  Jock Allen  and he's a huge fan and he's nipping back to Banbury to get his Connolly albums  for autographs. He says can you keep him onstage till he gets back?"
I don't think we can have a big interval nowadays due to the number of attendees. I think it is great having comperes who can entertain abit during intervals. Yer Billys and Jaspers and Frank Skinners are out of the ball park in terms of fees that they could command at Festivals. Billy and Frank came to Cropredy for "The Craic" and good on 'em. Frank even camped over the weekend. Billy left his Bentley in Banbury - bless him. Cheers Peggy.

Thanks Dave. Just how much do these comedians demand an hour? Who do they think they are?  Lawyers? Grin
