Thanks for offering to answer our questions.

One of my favourite Fairport albums has always been Babacombe Lee. How did you get the idea of writing this album? It's not the sort of subject you think of every day for a concept album.  Smiley

Hi Swarb

So great to have you with us.  I have a further question about 'Babbacombe Lee' to add to Paul's.

You may remember me asking you once about the song Farewell To A Poor Man's Son that you wrote for the BBC recording of the story.  I don't think that show has ever been repeated on TV.  Do you happen to have a copy of the show in your personal archives, or are we to fear that the programme has been lost to the ether?

 I came across a budle of papers in an antique shop, LLoyds weekly news, John lee serialised his story  in them.I read it and was hooked .  Swarb

The song is on the Fairport box, Swarb, but I was thinking of the actual video footage.  Do you know if that survived at all?

It was on Melvyn Bragg's South Bank Show, not positive, but think I have a copy in my archives...copies are very expensive Wink
