Hi Swarb,

hope you're keeping well - you certainly sound it! Not a question from me, more an observation...

Back in the 60s, my aunt took my grandmother to see you & Martin Carthy at a folk club in Solihull. I didn't hear about this until the early 70s, when I first got into Fairport, after seeing the Angel Delight lineup in the dunes at Southport (with Steeleye).

When I bought JBL, my gran looked at the sleeve & said she recognised the photo.  Turns out that when she was quite young, she went to a cinema in Bootle to see the silent film about JBL, and John Lee himself was there to speak about his life & answer questions.

In a strange coincidence, it transpired that my ex-wife's grandfather was the manager of the picture house, and took tea with Mr Lee.

Keep on fiddlin' Dave!! (and don't forget the life story)  Wink

good grief what a fantastic story thanks, i am working on the idea of a book, building up to it so to speak
