Hi Swarb

After Simon and then DM left in 1971, that only left you and Peggy wondering what to do next.

Meanwhile Ashley was forming The Albion Country Band.  Ashley, Simon, DM and Richard all passed through the ranks of the Albions, so there were often more Fairporters there than there was now in Fairport itself!

With you and Peggy both being "second generation" Fairporters, as it were, did you ever worry about whether you should still be using the 'brandname'?  Or was it partly down to record company pressure or finacial necessity?

I remember a magazine article from that time where you and/or Peggy talked (I assume not seriously) about changing the name to the Furry Freak Brothers.  Probably a good thing that didn't happen...  Smiley

Especially in Peggy's case as the furriness diminished soon afterwards!

I didn't like to mention the fact.  Smiley  Mind you, Simon's pretty furry nowadays, ironically enough!
