For those of you have not seen the announcement on the Fairport website:

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Narragansett Bay (Rhode Island) Cruises with onboard hosts Dave Pegg and PJ Wright

Peggy and PJ have planned a couple of couple of very special events around their appearance at this year's New Bedford (Massachusetts) Summerfest (July 5-6).

On July 3, start the holiday weekend early by joining them for a special dinner and performance culminating with a late evening cruise to view the largest fireworks display in southeastern New England.  We will meet at East Passage Yachting Center in Portsmouth, Rhode Island at 4:30PM.  This marina complex is located only 15 minutes southeast of Fall River, Massachusetts.  A private boat will bring you across the East Passage shipping channel (for commercial vessels in and out of the ports of Providence and Fall River) to Prudence Island, the jewell of Narragansett Bay.  Situated in the geographic center of the Bay, this island is only accessible by boat or ferry service.  Upon arrival, you will enjoy a gourmet dinner in a private waterfront residence with a deep water dock.  This will be followed by an informal acoustic performance by Peggy and PJ in an intimate and picturesque setting.  At 8:30PM, you will board the M/V Exuberant which is a 39 foot pilothouse style fast trawler (www.rockportyachts.com).  We will then proceed north approaching the coastal town of Bristol to enjoy spectacular views of a waterfront fireworks display (starting at 9:30) which is the kickoff to the nation's oldest Independence Day celebration.  We will return to the marina by 11:00PM.

On July 4, join Peggy, PJ and the crew of the Exuberant on an afternoon bay cruise which will include a stopover at Prudence Island.  You will board the vessel at the historic port of Wickford, a quaint seaside village in North Kingstown off Narragansett Bay's West Passage and conveniently located only 10 miles from I-95.  Upon departing Wickford Harbor, we will proceed easterly toward the southern tip of Prudence Island passing Conanicut Island (Jamestown) to our south.  Underway you will enjoy appetizers on our approach to the Bay's scenic East Passage and main channel for recreational boating and commercial shipping.  Upon arrival at the Island, a gourmet lunch will be provided shoreside followed by a private performance by Peggy and PJ.  The remainder of the day will be devoted to informal beach/water activities or guided van tours.  Please arrive at Wickford Marina by 11:30AM for a noon departure.  We will return to Wickford by 6:00PM.

These very unique opportunities will each be limited to a maximum of 15 guests.  Please wear appropriate footwear for boating.  Fourth of July guests should also bring sunscreen (bathing suits optional!).  Changing facilities are provided in Exuberant's stateroom and on shore.  All food and soft drinks are included (guests are also welcome to bring their own beverage choices).

Cost: $195 per guest

Please contact the captain at wlmaterna@aol.com for reservations, directions and additional details.

Well not exactly the high seas, I'm hoping more for the serene waters of Narragansett Bay.  In any event we are well prepared aboard the M/V Exuberant, so forget about seasickness!
