Dave, I met you in 1993 when you played Waltham, Massachusetts (USA) with Martin Carthy. You were kind enough to pose for pictures and chat for a moment after the show. I was there with my wife to be and I told you that we chose your White Dress as our wedding song. You offered congratulations and wished us many years of happiness. I'm pleased to report that your wish came true. October will mark our 15-year anniversary; along the way we've been blessed with three handsome sons. I still think about that show and fondly remember both your terrific performance and your kindness -- not just to me, but to many audience members. I recall one man sitting near us who brought along his original-pressing album cover for Full House. He had an autograph on four of the five caricatures, and he was hoping that you might make it complete, which you gladly did. I'd like to now return your good wishes by wishing you many more years of performing and music making.

Hi Swarb,

I think Mike's story speaks volumes about you. I had a similar experience in 1983 when I met you and bought you a drink after a show in Washington, DC. We talked for a short while and you made me feel like we had been friend for years. I can honestly tell you that my life would be less than complete had I never heard you play the fiddle. I'm looking forward to your 100th birthday celebration.

Thanks,

Pat
