Greetings Fairporters,
I was in Starbucks this AM getting my usual triple espresso. While it was brewing I was perusing the selection of Cd's available only at Starbucks when I spied one I hadn't seen before called "The Coffeehouse collection". Much to my surprise the very first track was "Who Knows..." along with a selection from Nick Drake, Incredible String Band, Lenard Cohen and some others. The girl behind the counter enquired as to my surprised look and when I expressed my total shock at seeing Fairport on sale in a Starbucks she played it on the the in-house sound system. What a way to start the day.

Cheers

You know what you should do now...? Go in every day, and ask them to play it again and again and...

And if it is in the Pittsburgh store, does that mean it will also be in other Starbucks around the US?

American TAW-ers, you now have your mission.  Let's get FC played in every Starbucks in the US

I suppose those of us outside the US should also check out our local Starbucks and see if they have the same CD? Having said that, I don't go in Starbucks very often (not a coffee drinker), so I don't know if other countries' Starbucks have in-house CDs?

I am sure I heard this in a Starbucks in Leeds a few weeks ago. Certainly had Nick Drake and Cohen.

I was wandering around a US hotel some time ago, bored and jet lagged, when I heard Portmerrion over the lobby sound system.

I'm sure the CD is avialable through out the US at least. I spotted it in Cleveland this week as well, though the snot behind the counter refused to play it for me.  Tongue

I also heard Portmerion once while on hold with my bank, but that was several years ago.

Blimey! Over here, you could listen to the whole of a CD Boxed set waiting to get any sense out of a bank Grin

Did they play "One More Cup of Coffee for the Road" by Bob Dylan?
