Oh I definitely like it...it sounds like the band I first fell in love with when I saw them live a few years later....there's a review on Amazon which reads: "...so while you are looking at the Fairport back catalogue and buying Leige and Leif and Unhalfbricking, take time to consider this, possibly the most Fairport-y of Fairport albums. Goes well with some beer and some mates! " I can't really argue with that.

I bought it recently, having not heard of it before. I haven't played it much, but there is some good stuff on it. Nice to hear some infamiliar Fairport!

I like it a lot ... some great arrangements featuring wonderful tunes ... and some brilliant songs to listen to, such as "The Widow Of Westmorland's Daughter" and "John Barleycorn". Very positive production values too.

Definitely a good one - a very 'Fairporty' album as that Amazon review said.

We had it on in the car, and because it's very short we listened to it about 8 times. Brill album.

For many years the only gaps I had in the Fairport catalogue were Tippler's, BBOR, and Gottle. I bought all 3 in the space of a couple of weeks when they were reissued and I was really surprised at how good Tippler's was. At present it's one of the Fairport albums I play most.I also think BBOR is a pretty fine album too. As for Gottle...? Well it has a certain charm!!!

Listen to the song Kascadekid. The tune is the same as the one for the famous hymn "We Plough the Fields and Scatter".

One of my all time favorite Fairport records. Great songs and performances. Honorable mention should definitely go to Bruce Rowland as well... IMO he has never really got the respect he deserves for his contributions to the FC catalog.

Of the three magnificent drummers I've been fortunate enough to see Fairport play with over the last 27 years, Bruce is definitely my favourite. He does that 'less is more' thing to near perfection...

He's banged a tambourine on stage at Cropredy a few times over the years, but not for quite a while now I believe. I asked a question about him on here a year or so back and Simon replied that he was happily retired these days... Last time I saw him was on a documentary about Ronnie Lane who he played with in the 70's. And lest we forget, he's the only member of the Fairport 1st team to have played at the Woodstock Festival(in Joe Cocker's Grease Band)....
