I was just thinking, presumably Fairport's bid to hold the record of longest song title with "Sir B. McKenzie's Daughter's Lament For The 77th Mounted Lancer's Retreat From The Straits Of Loch Knombe, In The Year Of Our Lord 1727, On The Occasion Of The Announcement Of Her Marriage To The Laird Of Kinleakie" must have pipped Pink Floyd's similarly ridiculously titled "Several Species Of Small Furry Animals Gathered Together In A Cave And Grooving With A Pict"?

Anyone know if the Floyd held the title before Fairport?  And whether Fairport still hold the record?

Since the ...hrrrm..."musical" congregation responsible for the quoted lyrics seem to be of the same national origin as myself, I feel the need to apologize for the rather unpoetical and blunt lyrics. To link with a neighbouring thread, I prefer the more poetic lyrics on the same topic in "The Bonny Black Hare"!  Wink
