1. Who are you and where are you from? A very good evening to you, Sir Robert! I'm Axel and I live in Britain's oldest town: Colchester.
2. What made you join Talkawhile? The voices - they made me do it!
3. What do you know of Fairport Convention and/or Cropredy if anything? I believe they are a popular beat combo. Known to frequent an ancient battlefield on an occasional basis for the purpose of minstrelsy and mild rabble-rousing.
4. What kind of music do you like? Good music - I'm not very comfortable with genres though - name any one genre and I dislike most of what it includes. There's a bit of something I enjoy in most music though, as long as it's played well and with enjoyment. I don't like cover bands (what's the point?) or people who sing miserable stuff (I want to be entertained). I like: Stravinsky, Psychic TV, Anubian Lights, Barbarins Fourchus, Robert Calvert, Daevid Allen, Can, Comus, Zappa etc. etc.
5. What was the last gig/festival/recital/concert that you attended? What was it like? That would've been a group called The Day Of The Sirens, they played The Oliver Twist last week. It was noisy and full of young scamps.
6. What was the last CD that you bought? Would you recommend it? Stars And Stripes by Robert Calvert. I would thoroughly recommend this to everyone. Robert Calvert was a true one-off, and this remastered double CD is a great example of the Captain at work.
7. “Tonight, Sir Robert, I am going to be my all time favourite singer, Robert Calvert and I will sing: ' Lord Of The Hornets' (don't think I'd be able to do it justice, though)

Welcome Axel,
Nice Moggy - although you can't recognise it as such from the photo.

OK then: here's a picture of me between two of my babies. How come they both have the same registration number? I've been led to believe that some countries in Europe (notably Switzerland - OK, I know it's not in "Europe", but it's in Europe... ) issue a registration number to each person, so however many vehicles you have, they all have the same reg... ? Dunno if that's the case with these, but it's an offering... They also, apparently, make public the list of which reg belongs to who, so if you cut someone up... Very polite, law-abiding drivers apparently. Of course, that may all be a Clarkson myth...

Well spotted Steve. That's not their real numberplates, they were put on for that particular show. It's a long story and I won't bore you with it here...

I reckon you'll find some fellow Zappa-liking bods here..
True, true. Not so many Calvert fans around though. This is something I'm on a mission to change. Robert Calvert needs to be discovered by more people. I'm a complete Calvert nut (so I'm told), but I blame the bloody radar crew: using my spanners for stirring their tea...

Sir Robert, buongiorno! Please allow me introduce myself (oh, no, I’m not a man of wealth and taste…) 1. Who are you and where are you from? Enzo Boeri, from Genoa (Italy) but now I live near Milan 2. What made you join Talkawhile? Just stepped by chance while browsing the net looking for Fotheringhay 2 3. What do you know of Fairport Convention and/or Cropredy if anything? The firsf Fairport LP I bought was Babbacombe Lee, (probably in 1978). Never been to Cropredy yet, but I have some CD, VCR and tapes. 4. What kind of music do you like? Folk of course, then blues, classical (with a particular devotion for Erik Satie) 5. What was the last gig/festival/recital/concert that you attended? What was it like? The incredible cello player Giovanni Sollima, in Trieste for Satie’s birthday celebrations, last month (here a clip of one encore in the concert: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cTW1fvYOfIw6. What was the last CD that you bought? Would you recommend it? Rosa de Papel, by Marisa Sannia. Everyone should have a copy. A wonderful voice from Sardinia (alas, Marisa died last year) singing Garcia Lorca’s lyrics (she wrote the music for all the songs but one, written by Leonard Cohen: Take this waltz) 7. Complete the following sentence: “Tonight, Sir Robert, I am going to be my all time favourite singer Robin Williamson and I will sing ' Maya.' That is almost all; oh no, please let me tell how deeply I love being in a forum where Judy Dyble is. I first heard her voice in Chelsea Morning in the electric muse record more than thirty years ago (again 1978, the year I switched from Genesis – Floyd to Fairport – Pentangle)
