Welcome to Almo who I know from elsewhere (melodeon.net) - he'll now be wondering who the devil I am as I use my 'usual' internet handle on there.  Wink Welcome too to Kath who "lives on the Kentish coast", I guess my name gives the game away!  Cheesy

1.   My name is Kris, I am the label Manager of a new Bristol based digital acoustic & folk label called Reel Me Records.

2.   I joined Talkawhile to chat to like minded folk with a passion for music, spread the word of the label and our artists and you neve know I may even uncover a hidden gem or 2 on talkawhile!

3.   Cropredy is a lovely 3 day festy set up by Fairport Convention!

4.   I personally like contemporary acoustic, folk, neo folk, acoustic soul and worlkd music (to name but a few!) and as a result Reel Me Records releases the same!

5.   The last gig was at the Harbourside Festival in Bristol, beautiful sunny day, seeing the city unite as one in Queens Sq whilst listening to one of our artists Siddy Bennett performing on stage.

6.   the last CD I bought was a world music compilation by mutamayo, various artists and wonderful to play during our BBQ's or on a chilled Sunday so definately recommended!

7.
“Tonight, Sir Robert, I am going to be my all time favourite singer 'Elizabeth Frazer' and I will
            sing:  'Victorialand'

PS - Farm Fest this weekend in Bruton, Somerset - 2 days of organic food, wonderful selection of Folk bands, very chilled with onyl around 2500 people there, May see you there!

Victorialand was the LP that got pressed at 45RPM by mistake wasn't it?

I remember a flatmate at uni coming in after hearing it and saying 'Oh no! Cocteau Twins have got rid of their female singer and gone all gloomy!'

Hah!! Dunno if it was a mistake or not, Nick, but you're right. I only had it on tape, but I friend of mine groused about the vinyl. He decided it was just a giant EP, not really an LP at all.

I recently resumed writing things - The Last Voyage of The Barque Endeavour was interesting to play on melodeon - it's in Am and Em
played on a D / G box.
cheers
Alan

The Endeavour Barque -? That would be an interesting addition to my Captain Cook collection, which currently ranges from Black Dyke Mills Band to Martin Simpson! Will try to listen later.
