Hi there!
1. Who are you and where are you from?
Jimmy, I'm a student and freelance web developer from the northern parts of Sweden. That is to say a place where the sun never shines and you need skis in the middle of June
Well, not really. Actually it's pretty nice here, but I wouldn't mind having less cold winters (below -30*C sometimes) and a bit longer summers.
2. What made you join Talkawhile?
I'm a really big fan to folk music in general. I'm also planning for a radio project which I will probably write about here to get some feedback.
3. What do you know of Fairport Convention and/or Cropredy if anything?
Uhm... I'm sorry, but not much to be honest.
4. What kind of music do you like?
Folk music in general. Especially Celtic though as I play the tin- and low whistle myself. I'm also singing in a couple of choirs. I'm not only listening to folk music, I tend to listen to various types of music. Though I try to stay away from the annoying pop music that all the local radio stations here seem to love...
5. What was the last gig/festival/recital/concert that you attended? What was it like?
Well.. That's a good question. There aren't really many festivals/gigs here with the kind of music I enjoy listening to. A couple of days ago I went to listen on a military bagpipe band though.
6. What was the last CD that you bought? Would you recommend it?
The very last CD wasn't really for myself. So I'll take a previous one: Swedish Folksongs by the (not very well-known) Swedish tenor Dagfin Malm. Yes, I would recommend it. It's a quite old recording but he's a good singer and of course I would like to hear some Swedish music as well
7. I'm afraid I can't really answer this question. I've never been able to tell which singer I believe is "the best". Right now one of my favourite songs are "Kilkelly" performed by Robbie O'Connell
