Cropredy from a few years ago.

A number of years ago when fairport also used to play on the Friday (I wouldnt mind it back).  Rik and Chris played a song / set that included some very electric and spacey sounding fiddle playing. Im not sure what year but it was excellent.
Does anyone remember.
Ive not heard the likes of it since, it was in the last 14 years a but more than likely in the past 6 ? or 8

Thanks

Ric used to do a solo number with loads of echo called PDC (pretty damn cosmic).
Is that it?

Otherwise known as Cosmic Intermezzo, which was last done in 98 (according to Expletive Delighted). It's on the Beyond the Ledge DVD.

If it was Chris and Ric together ... I remember them playing an instrumental called The Flow as a duo, which was the title track from Chris' 1997 solo album on Beautiful Jo Records. Might have been somewhere between 1998-2001 that they did this in the FC set at Cropredy. Very nice it was too.
PDC was definetely Ric alone.

It only tends to happen on Anniversary years.

Well, if you've been coming since 94, it's only happened twice since! 97 and 02. Have a look here - http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/fcfansite/cropredy.htm

Blimey, youre right. I checked back on the programs http://www.musikfolk.co.uk/expletive-delighted/cropredy.htm

The mind works in mysterious ways, I could have sworn it was each year on the early ones. Blimey its the last time I take a free cake off someone  Grin.

Thanks for clearing that up and now all I need to do is hope I wasnt dreaming of the song.

Cheers Simon

I have looked at my Fairport Convention "Beyond the Ledge" DVD filmed at Cropredy 98, and Ric does "cosmic Intermezzo"
